Position Summary:
Vacancy Brewing is looking for an Events & Marketing Coordinator to plan, promote, and execute taproom events that drive traffic and build community.
This role blends event planning, marketing, and on-the-ground execution. You’ll own our event calendar, bring in creative ideas and partners, and ensure events are well run and well attended.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the Taproom Event Calendar
- Build and manage a monthly event calendar that balances:
- Beer releases
- Recurring events (trivia, karaoke, etc.)
- One-off activations and partnerships
- Intentionally program slower times (Mondays, daytime hours)
- Work with food truck partners to promote events & specials
- Continuously bring new and fresh ideas to the table
Plan & Build
- Develop event concepts from idea to execution
- Think through the full guest experience (not just logistics): flow, vibe, and how guests engage
- Create simple but effective run of show documents so nothing falls through the cracks
- Source and build relationships with local community partners, vendors, and creatives
- Coordinate meaningful brand collaborations
- Look for opportunities that bring new audiences into the taproom
Spread the Word
- Create flyers, graphics & social media posts
- Create and manage event listings across platforms (website, Instagram, Facebook, Google, local event calendars)
- Capture content (photo/video) and promote events in a ways that tie to the Vacancy brand
Communication & Execution
- Make sure staff knows what’s happening and when
- Give staff context + talking points so they can promote events to guests
- Work with our bar manager to ensure smooth execution during service
- Be onsite for key events
- Coordinate vendors, timing, and setup
- Troubleshoot in real time when things inevitably don’t go exactly as planned
Reporting & Optimization
- Pay attention to what’s working and what’s not
- Track turnout, sales, and other key performance metrics
- Adjust future programming based on real results
You Might Be a Fit If You:
- Naturally notice when a space feels dead and immediately think of how to fix it
- Have opinions on what makes a memorable experience vs a forgettable one
- Are both creative and organized (you can ideate and execute)
- Are comfortable talking to strangers, partners, vendors, and staff
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with Canva and Google Workspace
- Comfortable managing social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok)
- Available for nights and weekends
- Able to be physically present for events
- Passionate about the craft beer industry
Nice to Have but not required:
- Background in events, hospitality, or marketing
- Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Familiarity with the Austin events scene
Perks & Benefits:
- Competitive pay based on experience
- Discounts on beer and merchandise
- Monthly Taproom, Merch & Beer To Go allowance
- Opportunity to grow within a small but dynamic brewery
- Fun and welcoming work environment
