The Texas Craft Brewers Guild is hiring a Membership Coordinator

The Texas Craft Brewers Guild (TCBG) is the statewide 501(c)(6) nonprofit trade association working to advance the Texas craft brewing industry through advocacy, promotion, and education. TCBG is seeking a highly organized administrative professional to join our small but mighty team of craft beer advocates. The Membership Coordinator reports to the Guild’s Executive Director, who, in turn, reports to the organization’s Board of Directors.

Job Description

The Membership Coordinator will serve as a primary point of contact for Texas Craft Brewers Guild members and play a central role in recruiting, welcoming, engaging, and retaining businesses across our membership categories.

This position combines relationship-building and industry outreach with detailed administrative work. The Membership Coordinator will help prospective members understand the value of Guild membership; onboard new members and connect them with relevant resources and opportunities; maintain accurate membership records and billing; support member committees and regional engagement; and proactively identify opportunities to strengthen participation in the Guild and its programs.

The Membership Coordinator is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.

Qualifications

  • Be able to take and apply direction from the TCBG Executive Director and work collaboratively as a team with co-workers, Board and committee members, and other stakeholders while also independently managing some projects and priorities from ideation through completion
  • Be personable, approachable, and comfortable building relationships with brewery owners, employees, industry suppliers, community partners, and prospective members through email, phone calls, video meetings, brewery visits, and industry events
  • Be highly organized and comfortable balancing relationship-focused work with detailed online administrative responsibilities, including processing membership activity and billing, tracking prospective and lapsed members, scheduling meetings, and returning emails.
  • Be comfortable discussing membership dues, invoices, payment status, and other financial matters directly and professionally with members
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including comfort with public speaking and leading meetings
  • Be able to regularly work from home and have a cell phone, laptop, and reliable internet access to support frequent video conferencing.
  • The Guild does not maintain a brick-and-mortar office, so the ability to successfully work and collaborate with team members remotely using technology is key
  • Be prepared to attend a variety of in-person events in Austin and across Texas, including one-off meetings, Board meetings, major annual events, Guild Gathering happy hours, legislative events, industry conferences, and brewery visits, including some evenings and weekends. Additional travel may include national industry events (1–3 per year)
  • Have a high comfort level with technology and an aptitude for learning new platforms. Some of the tools TCBG staff utilize regularly include Slack, Zoom, MembershipWorks, Canva, Google Drive apps, Gmail, Flodesk, WordPress, JotForm, Monday, and others
  • Have a willingness to jump in on other Guild events and projects as necessary. We are a small team, so special projects and miscellaneous responsibilities are often divvied up based on staff bandwidth
  • Have a passion for craft beer and enthusiasm for supporting independent breweries and the broader Texas craft brewing community
