Brewer

Live Oak Brewing Company is seeking a full-time brewer to join our acclaimed production team as we continue to expand our distribution across Texas and enter our 30th year of world-class brewing. 

The position will be responsible for executing all production tasks, from producing wort to finishing bright beer for packaging:

Receiving bulk malt shipments (tipper truck), handling all raw materials
Producing wort (75 hl Braukon brewhouse, nearly fully automated)
Monitoring fermentation (horizontal), yeast viability and vitality

Fermentation to conditioning (horizontal) transfers, manual yeast harvesting / handling
Conditioning to bright tank transfers, lenticular filtration for lagers

Candidate should have experience with the following:
Experience similar to the aforementioned production tasks
Time management of overlapping tasks
Understanding of fermentation science and the elements of lagering
Proper chemical handling and knowledge for CIP/SIP practices of tanks, pumps, hoses, fittings, etc.
O2 mitigation best practices 
Understanding of pressure differences, fluid dynamics, positive pressure, negative pressure (tank vacuum)
Some ability to troubleshoot and solve problems related to product and/or equipment
Participate in QA/QC sensory analysis and training
Occasional assistance with packaging may be necessary
Occasional fermentation monitoring on the weekends may be necessary

Occasional beer festival/event participation

Compensation starting at $25/hr (~$52,000 annually)
