Explore Texas Craft Beer on Small Business Saturday

PRESS RELEASE:

In celebration of Small Business Saturday, dozens of Texas craft breweries and craft-friendly bars and restaurants invite beer enthusiasts to get out, bring family and friends, and explore Texas craft beer on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. To commemorate the occasion, these small businesses will be offering a collectible souvenir glass designed around the theme “Explore Texas Craft Beer.” Around $1 of every glass sold will support the Texas Craft Brewers Guild, the non-profit association of brewers committed to advancing the Texas craft beer industry through advocacy and education.

Illustrated by Texas-based artist Alana Louise and printed in partnership with Grandstand, the design on the glass encapsulates the natural beauty of Texas with iconic landscapes–from Big Bend National Park in the West, to Caddo Lake and the Texas Gulf in the East. An array of Texas plants and animals, including the famous Caprock Canyons bison herd, bluebonnets, and gulf shrimp, are featured along the way.

“I have a personal relationship with Texas craft beer – from designing packaging for breweries to being married to a brewer,” Louise said. “When the Texas Craft Brewers Guild approached me to design their very first Small Business Saturday glass, I was absolutely excited! But then came the challenge – how do you describe Texas craft without making another glass with just some hops on it? I chose to feature the flora and fauna of Texas to celebrate the fact that our beer is just as diverse as the landscape that surrounds us.”

The approximately 300 small and independent breweries across Texas have an over $5 Billion impact on the state economy. Locally owned and operated, these small businesses create handcrafted products, jobs, and community gathering spaces in rural towns and large cities across the state.

“The story of craft beer in Texas is the story of small business,” Texas Craft Brewers Guild Deputy Director Caroline Wallace said. “We couldn’t be more excited to invite Texans out to explore the wonderful beers this state has to offer on November 30th by visiting a small business in their community and picking up one of these stunning glasses designed to celebrate our great state.”
