San Antonio brewery and TCBG member Weathered Souls announced the Black is Beautiful Initiative earlier this week, and already more than 100 breweries across the nation have signed on to participate.
The initiative provides a recipe for a high-ABV stout, label art, and promotional tools to allow any operating brewery to produce their own version of this beer with the goals of raising awareness and funds for police brutality reform and legal defense funds for those who have been wronged.
“This Platform and collaboration is about understanding and supporting people of color and inclusion. We ask that you please stand with us to create something that has never been seen before and show the world the brewing community is one of a kind,” says Marcus Baskerville, Co-Owner and Head Brewer at Weathered Souls and founder of the initiative.
