As part of this year’s Texas Brewery Roundup, the Guild has partnered with the Cicerone Certification Program to offer a Tasting and Demonstration exam on Friday, July 10. The Guild’s Opportunity & Social Impact Subcommittee is proud to facilitate a scholarship opportunity for up to three individual Guild members to sit for this in-state Cicerone exam opportunity.
Beer professionals at all stages of certification know how impactful this certification can be for someone’s career in craft beer. This scholarship aligns with the Subcommittee’s goals of creating opportunities for the professionals in our industry and creating a highly-skilled pipeline of job candidates for Guild member businesses.

Tasting & Demonstration Exam Details
Date: Friday, July 10, 2026
Exam Start Time: 10:00am (Please plan to arrive earlier, according to proctor instructions)
Location: The Bevy Boerne – 101 Herff Rd, Boerne, TX 78006
This examination is available in English and Spanish.
Eligibility
- Eligible applicants must be currently employed by a member of the Texas Craft Brewers Guild. Employers can be Guild members in any category, and employment can be part-time or full-time. Contractors and students are not considered employees for the purposes of this grant.
- Applicants should have a residential or business address in the state of Texas at the time of application.
- Candidates must submit a thorough and timely application through the form linked below.
- Applicants should be able to demonstrate that they have completed all prerequisite coursework to sit for the Tasting & Demonstration Exam. Applicants who have not completed these prerequisites will be asked to provide a plan that demonstrates how they will accomplish these before the July 10, 2026, test date.
Terms
- The scholarship covers course registration for the exam only. Recipient should be prepared to cover any travel expenses associated with attending the exam, including mileage, airfare, meals, or lodging, as well as registration to attend the Texas Brewery Roundup.
- This scholarship has no cash value. The recipient will registered for the course using coupon codes issued by Cicerone.
- The scholarship is not transferrable and can only be applied to the registration under the name of the awardee.
- Nonattendance to a course or exam for which the recipient has been registered may result in forfeiture of the scholarship.
- If the exam date is canceled by the Cicerone program, arrangements may be made for the recipient to register for an alternate exam date at their own expense.
- The Demonstration & Tasting Exam is only part of the requirement for Level Two Cicerone certification. Please see the Cicerone program website for more information about completing the written exam portion to attain Certified Cicerone status.

- April 1 – April 30: Application submission window
- May 1 – May 15: Applicant review & notification
- July 10: Cicerone Level 2 Tasting & Demonstration Exam
- July 10-12: Texas Brewery Roundup in Boerne
