Cheers, everyone! April 29, 2015, was Texas Craft Brewers Day, so resolved by the Texas House of Representatives through passage of HR 2278, proposed by State Representative Justin Rodriguez of San Antonio, as part of the 84th Legislature Regular Session. Read the resolution here.
As a craft beer fan, there is much to celebrate.
The Texas Craft Brewers Guild, the nonprofit trade organization representing the Texas craft brewers, has seen remarkable membership growth over the past four years, which in turn has been accompanied by substantial economic impact for the state of Texas.
The number of people employed by Texas breweries and brewpubs jumped 135% in four years (2011-2014), more than doubling, and has exceeded 3,000 jobs, according to the Texas Craft Brewers Guild.
As a showcase for these many members, the Texas Craft Brewers Guild announced the date of its popular Texas Craft Brewers Festival (Sept. 19. in Austin) with the expectation that it would be hosting a record-setting number of brewers this year. Tickets to attend the biggest showcase of Texas craft beer ever is $30 in advance.

The Texas Craft Brewers Festival sold out in advance last year.
So, Texas, celebrate the day, celebrate the week, celebrate the year. It's a great time to be a craft beer lover in the Lone Star State!
