Packaging Technician

Position Overview:

35-40 hours weekly. The Packaging Technician’s primary responsibilities include operating the keg cleaning line, quality control throughout each process, preventive maintenance, cleaning and sanitation of work areas and equipment, and ensuring safety and operating procedures are followed. The Packaging Tech will be responsible for assisting the Head Brewer and Brewer in keeping production running smoothly and maintaining Twin Peaks standards at all times.

Position Duties:

  • Assist with packaging and brewery operations
  • CIP/Sanitization on all vessels (fermenters, heat exchanger, mash tun, kettle, and brite beer tanks)
  • Beer transfers
  • Carbonation
  • Cleaning and filling kegs
  • Loading and unloading trucks
  •  Milling malts

 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Packaging/cellar experience preferred
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in a small team setting
  • Strong communication and administration skills to interact with customers, vendors, and coworkers in a professional manner
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures
  • Must possess superior organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a fast-paced and evolving work environment
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control
  • Good understanding of quality assurance / quality control and problem-solving skills and to troubleshoot any beer related issues

 

Supervision Received:

This position will report to the Head Brewer

 

Supervision Exercised:

The Packaging Tech does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment:

This job operates in a brewery setting.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and frequently move kegs.
