Second Pitch Beer Company is a year and a half old brewery in San Antonio, TX.  We are a production brewery with a tap room looking to make a splash in the San Antonio market.  Our beer is served in the tap room and is distributed to the greater San Antonio area.  We brew classic craft styles of beer to the highest degree of excellence.  At Second Pitch good enough simple isn’t.

We are looking for a driven individual who is not afraid of long hours working in the brewhouse and helping us create great beer.  Integrity and trust are of the upmost importance.  This employee will need to be self-motivated with an excellent eye for details.  The ideal employee is someone who wants to grow with Second Pitch and become a long-term employee of the company.

This is a full time hourly job.

Primary Duties:
-Participate in sensory panels
-Attend staff meetings
-Maintain proper sanitation and cleanliness at all times.  This is of the upmost importance.
-Maintain a sanitary environment, which includes but not limited to cleaning floors, walls, tanks and ceilings.
-Execute proper sampling and analysis of daily brews in accordance with schedule and good brewing practices. Monitor vital wort indicators including but not limited to target gravity, pH, BUs and fermentability.
-Manage Inventory
-Responsible for CIP and preparation of fermentation, and bright beer.
-Responsible for finished beer handling including but not limited to carbonation, DO monitoring and recording, and packaging preparation.
-Clean Kegs.
-Loading kegs for delivery
-Delivery of kegs occasionally
-Package beer in kegs.
-Assist on canning days
-Maintain TTB paperwork and brew logs.
-Communicate clearly.
-Participate in company events as needed while maintaining professional composure.

-No formal brewing experience needed but strongly preferred.
-Understand all concepts of beer making and brewing.
-Intense commitment to learn
-Work on a ladder to height of 15 feet.
-Physically be able to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs, stand all day, lift 55+ pounds, work in a non-temperature controlled environment and repeatedly handle hot and cold liquids.
-Able to stand for long periods of time (up to 8-10 hours per day).
-Drive a small truck with a clean driving record.
-Strictly follow recipes and standard operating procedures while recommending ways of improving them.
-Willingness to work occasional weekends, holidays and overtime as needed
-Work safely with chemicals
-Work safely in a loud and hot environment
-Must be 21 or older
