Expanding Brew Pub Seeking Brewer For New Production Facility

Red Horn Brewing Co. is an expanding 6 year old Brew Pub and Coffee Roastery in the rapidly growing northern suburbs of Austin, Texas.

We are currently seeking an innovative, self-driven, and experienced brewer to join our team and assist in opening and commissioning our new 15 BBL brewhouse at our second production facility.

Initial onboarding and training will occur on our original 7 BBL electric brewhouse at our existing location until our new Direct Fired 3-vessel Deutsche system arrives.

Our current production is approximately 800 barrels per year with focus on a wide variety of ales and lagers, ~85% of volume sold on site. All distributed beer is currently draft only.

We operate a single head canning machine for in-house releases with immediate plans to increase can production for the distribution market out of location #2.

Our ideal candidate is an experienced brewer with a strong work ethic that works well in a team environment. They will work directly with our company ownership to ensure a smooth transition to increased production, and packaging. Day to day responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Raw materials management, wort production, fermentation management, cleaning and sanitation of brewhouse and cellar vessels, keg cleaning & filling, canning, general maintenance, management of cellarpersons/assistant brewers, record keeping, scheduling, enforcing and updating SOPs and Safety practices, and some taproom support.

Desired Qualifications:

-3+ years brewing experience on a 15BBL Brewhouse or larger.
-Experience canning for distribution.
-Able to repeatedly lift 50+ pounds.
-Flexible availability. Able to work variable times and on short notice when necessary to get a job done.
-Possess a basic understanding of brewing software (BeerSmith & Ekos or similar)
-Possess a clear understanding of brewing principles and QA/QC best practices.
-Proficient time management and organizational skills.

Job Summary:

-Brewer will provide support to Head Brewer and take lead in his absence.
-Assist with recipe development and sensory.
-Training and supervising Cellarpersons/Brewer Apprentices/Assistant Brewers.
-Maintain and ensure timely completion and quality control throughout all aspects of the brewing/cellaring/packaging process.
-Ensure a safe workplace by enforcing and updating safety standards and SOPs as necessary.
-Hours: On average 40 hours/week, overtime hours available as needed. Most often M-F. Weekends (Including special events) scheduled as needed.
