Brewer – Great Heights Brewing, Houston, TX

Great Heights Brewing Company is a small craft brewery operating in Houston, TX since 2017. We produce, package, and distribute a wide range of ale and lager styles throughout the greater Houston area. Great Heights is hiring an experienced brewer or an assistant-brewer who is reliable, hard-working, and passionate about creating beer of the highest quality.

 

Specific duties include:

·      The complete brewing process from milling to wort production, spent grain handling, fermentation and packaging in kegs and cans

·      Operation of 15 BBL, two-vessel steam brewhouse

·      Clean brewhouse and tank interiors and exteriors, brewery floors, and kegs with attention to the safe and proper handling of the chemicals used in the cleaning and sanitization process

·      Cellar management including yeast harvesting and pitching, daily fermentation tracking and dry-hopping

·      Adherence to all standard operating procedures, safety procedures, quality standards, and professional behavior standards

·      Recipe formulation and test batch brewing

 

Requirements include:

·      Prior commercial brewing  experience

·      Ability to excel individually and as part of a team

·      Capability to lift 55-lb grain sacks, maneuver 150-lb kegs, climb stairs and ladders, and perform other physically demanding duties

 

Preferred qualifications:

·      Experience operating a canning line is a plus but is not required
