Full Job Description:  We are hiring a Head Chef to elevate our Can-tina food truck menu and provide our tap room guests with quality food alongside our quality beers.  You’ll be in charge of the day-to-day including creating a daily menu, weekend brunch menu and specials.  Keeping the truck and storage areas at top cleanliness within health code expectations is a must.  Building and continuing relationships with vendors and a focus on sales, labor, and food cost.  Work with our Director of Hospitality and Director of Marketing to create excitement around The Can-tina for on-site events with an opportunity at catering, and hosting off-site events.

Position Requirements:

–  Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
– Able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check
– Texas Food Handler’s certification required
– TABC server certification
– Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
– Knowledge and passion for craft beer preferred
– Must adhere to company’s policies and procedures
– Thorough attention to detail and desire to take initiative
– Willingness to comply with and enforce all health, safety, and personal hygiene policies and standards
– Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods, and lift up to 50lbs
– Minimum of five years of culinary management experience
– Prior experience running a successful and busy kitchen
– Experience in hiring, training, and mentoring staff
– Ability to manage and oversee food costs, labor management and bottom-line profitability

Daily Responsibilities: 

– Executing food at the highest quality in a timely manner
– Developing protocols to create consistency
– Establish a sanitary work environment that meets the health department standards of Travis county
– Continuously working on development and creativity of the daily menus and specials
– Maintain staffing levels that meet budgeted labor percentages
– Monitor daily reports (sales, labor, food cost)
– Managing inventory of food and dry goods
– Ordering inventory of food and dry goods as needed
– Other tasks as assigned

Pay:  $50,000 salary

Physical Setting:  Food Truck + cold and dry storage units

Schedule:

Day shift
Night shift
Monday to Friday
Weekends

Supplemental Pay:  Bonus

COVID-19 considerations:

Customers are currently required to wear a mask indoors and when approaching to order, common surfaces sanitized regularly, curbside and to-go available.
