Austin Beerworks Beertender

We are looking to expand our amazing bartender team! We are just about to turn 12 and are looking to add new faces to our front of house staff at Austin Beerworks to join our veteran team in continuing to host our neighbors, supporters and tourists. We’re located 1.6 miles from the new AustinFC stadium and the Verde hype is real! Job duties include assisting customers, pouring beer, selling merchandise, running a point of sale system, stocking and cleaning.

Position Requirements:
– Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
– Able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check
– Texas Food Handler’s certification required
– TABC server certification
– Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
– Previous professional service industry and/or hospitality experience strongly preferred
– Knowledge and passion for craft beer preferred
– Must adhere to company’s policies and procedures
– Strong interpersonal skills and love for meeting and interacting with people
– Thorough attention to detail and desire to take initiative
– Desire to work in a fast-paced, growing company
– Willingness to comply with and enforce all health, safety, and personal hygiene policies and standards
– Politely but firmly enforcing taproom and brewery rules and regulations
– Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc for extended periods, and lift up to 50lbs
– Cannot work concurrently at a restaurant, bar, or brewpub (in the retail tier) as we are in the manufacturing tier
– Willingness to become forklift certified a plus
– Ability to lift 140lbs a plus

Daily Responsibilities
– Greet all guests promptly and courteously
– Maintain thorough knowledge of the brand including beer, food, merchandise and backstory and brewery news
– Have an overall awareness of the tap room and patio and take initiative and ownership to ensure all aspects of it are clean, presentable, and inviting
– Move and change kegs
– Comply with and enforce all health, safety, and personal hygiene policies and standards
– Dedication towards ongoing education about the industry, the company and its’ products
– Be a team player, capable of interacting productively with all levels within the organization
– Handling cash, credit, and debit card transitions, ensuring charges are accurate, returning correct change to customers and the register
– Other tasks as assigned
