JOB TITLE: VP of Operations
LOCATION: San Marcos, TX 
POSITION TYPE: Full Time 

Job Summary:
This position is responsible for both the high-level forward planning and detail-level of daily production.  This critical position serves as the information center for all production resources, and is responsible for scheduling production as well as procuring and maintaining all raw materials inventory, from brewing to packaging.  This position is managing schedules and inventories to ensure the freshest beer and seltzer in the marketplace.
The high-level position is best suited for a detailed, data-driven individual interested in ensuring the timely flow of production information through the entire organization.  This includes not only the planning and materials information required to operate, but financial and performance reporting that will help us drive improvement in these aspects of the organization as well.  
This individual must be comfortable working in a high-growth and dynamic environment that requires adaptability, creative thinking, and the enjoyment of opportunistic challenges.
This person will have expertise in: project management, supply chain management, operating infrastructure, and strategic planning, as well as goals management and information organization. The candidate must understand operational cost drivers that help improve overall business performance. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
·       Prepare an annual manufacturing plan and policy guidelines to drive the performance of key results.
·       Participate in annual budgeting process and regular oversight of production related costs/expenses
·       Produce and maintain monthly production performance and dept financial reports
·       Leading a team in producing high quality beer and seltzer in a safe and efficient manner.
·       Oversees the hiring and training of facility personnel. Coach and develop staff to build high performing team. Assigns stretch assignments to further train and enhance staff development.
·       Promotes cross training to optimize workforce, ensures functional coverage, reduce labor costs, and supports succession planning
·       Manage and maintain labor and operating costs in accordance with budgets and strategic goals
·       Create and maintain weekly detailed brewing and packaging schedules
·       Ensure all orders are met; ensuring no out-of-stocks, and that all orders received are fulfilled in full.
·       Work with CEO to forecast and plan for any future personnel or equipment needs, allowing ample time for ordering and implementation.
·       Writing, updating, delivering and enforcing SOPs for the department.
·       Ensuring clean and sanitary equipment and working environment.
·       Managing raw materials and packaging inventories and raw materials contracts
·       Assist in overseeing repairs and maintenance on all brewing, cellar, and packaging equipment.
·       Prepare and submit all monthly Federal and State production reports and excise tax filings
·       Staying informed about new industry processes, practices and equipment.
·       Additional duties as may be necessary. 

IMPORTANT SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 
·       Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Chemical Engineering, other Engineering or Business OR any combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, abilities have been achieved preferred
·       Brewer Certification or Fermentation Science education preferred
·       Comprehensive understanding of brewing science, brewery operations
·       Minimum of five years professional brewing, in a production brewery
·       Full dexterity and use of senses to identify potential hazards. 
·       Must be able to participate in critical assessment of beers.
·       APICS, CQE, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement credentials preferred 
·       5 years increasing management responsibility in a brewery environment required
·       Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
·       Strong MS Office skills required. 
·       Experience with Ekos systems strongly required.
·       Strong financial acumen, especially as it relates to the analysis and improvement of COGS/Gross Margin
·       Detailed yet Strategic, diligent with regards to data accuracy but with a big-picture mentality
·       Desire to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment required
·       Strong interpersonal skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills
·       Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch and climb ladders/steps. 
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 lbs.
