As the Deputy Director of the Texas Craft Brewers Guild, Caroline has a hand in marketing and executing the Guild’s events, including the Texas Craft Brewers Festival, the statewide Annual Meeting, and the Education & Safety Summit. Spearheading social media, collateral design, and media outreach for the Guild, and its political action committee, CraftPAC, she works to bring public advocacy and attention to legislative issues impacting Texas craft brewers. She also manages the Guild’s merchandise program and online store, and works with the TCBG team on partnerships, initiatives, and activities to further advance the Texas craft brewing industry.
Prior to coming to work for the TCBG as Events Manager in 2015, Caroline worked in video production. First getting her start with a Public Relations and Advertising degree from St. Edward’s University in Austin and an internship at the Office of the Governor’s Texas Film Commission, she later coordinated commercial shoots for clients including Nissan, Reebok, and Doritos, and music videos for artists like Ben Kweller and Explosions in the Sky. While developing a strong passion for writing about craft beer in her spare time, she wrote hundreds of blog posts and co-authored two books—Austin Beer (History Press), which documented Austin’s colorful brewing history, and Trappist Beer Travels (Schiffer Publishing), which brought readers inside the world’s Authentic Trappist monastery breweries.
Caroline is active in the Austin chapter of Pink Boots Society, an international non-profit created to assist, inspire, and educate women beer professionals. With a passion (or at least tolerance) for public speaking, she has moderated and participated in beer-centric panels at events including South by Southwest (SXSW), Austin Design Week, and the Texas Book Festival.
